Mauricio’s debut on Dancing With the Stars was a spectacle. Kyle was right there in the ballroom, cheering him on. His partner, Emma Slater, was by his side as they performed a jive.
Kyle didn’t stop at just cheering. She took her support a step further. Her Instagram Story was all about how to vote for Mauricio.
After the DWTS premiere, Mauricio had something to say about his marriage. “We’ve been dealing with stuff,” he admitted on the Sept. 28 episode of The Agency’s Red Mic podcast. “Quietly, internally. Our own issues.”
He was quick to clarify, though. “We’re not separated. We’re not divorced. Not any of that. We’re working on our marriage.”
At 53, Mauricio reflected on their nearly three-decade-long marriage. “It’s been an amazing 26 years,” he said. “But a difficult one year.” He added, “Kyle and I are blessed. We had 26 years without a bad year. Most marriages have bad months, weeks, years.”
Then came the rumors. People were saying he and Kyle staged their separation for publicity. Mauricio was quick to shut that down.
“I’m not going to ruin my life for a news plant,” he said. “I’m not that smart or that conniving.” He insisted that the rumors were just that – rumors.
