Gary Neville’s wild screaming reaction to Amad Diallo’s last-gasp winner has gone viral on social media.

Diallo scored in the 121st minute at Old Trafford to give Manchester United a 4-3 win over arch-rivals Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals, sending fans into jubilant celebrations at the ground, and at home.

Man United club legend Neville, 49, was one of those who was watching proceedings from afar, but the clip of him celebrating the 21-year-old Ivorian’s goal on Instagram quickly made its way around the internet.

Diallo celebrated his famous goal by removing his shirt – but he forgot he had already been booked earlier in the match, and was subsequently shown a red card.

Speaking after the game, Diallo was asked on ITV if his goal is the best one that he has ever scored.

The 21-year-old Ivorian replied: ‘I think so. It’s an important moment, so I think it’s the best goal of my career.’

‘I don’t believe but this is football. You need to believe every single moment. I’m happy to score.’

Speaking after the game, Neville’s Sky Sports colleague Jamie Carragher said that Liverpool ‘only have themselves to blame’ for the defeat.

In the FA Cup semi-final in April, Man United will play Coventry City, after they drew the Championship side in the moments following their late win on Sunday, while crosstown rivals Manchester City will host Chelsea in the other semi.

After the international break, Manchester United have back-to-back games in London away to Brentford and Chelsea before another Liverpool clash on April 7.
