Alphonso Davies 'is nearing a summer move to Real Madrid amid contract standoff with Bayern Munich'... as the player's agent slams the club's negotiating tactics after 'attacks' on the player

Alphonso Davies’ agent has hit out at Bayern Munich for giving the full-back an ‘ultimatum’ over a contract extension amid the player being linked with a move to Real Madrid.

The 22-year-old’s contract at Bayern expires in 2025, with the German giants frustrated over failed attempts to tie Davies down to a longer deal.

A deadline for the end of March has been set by the club, an issue that the Canadian’s agent, Nedal Huoseh, has labelled as an ‘attack’.

Real Madrid are understood to be favourites for his signature as the Spanish side look to continue to recruit top talents from other European sides.

Huoseh is unhappy with the impending deadline and told German publication BILD that the situation was ‘unfair’ for Davies to have to deal with.

‘It’s not fair that they attack Alphonso now. We were close to reaching an agreement a year ago,’ the player’s representative said.

‘Then the entire management of the club was replaced. We didn’t hear anything for seven months. Although during this time I tried to contact the club myself.

‘Now they give us an ultimatum and we must react in two weeks because the club is under pressure and has taken a long time to reorganise their management department? That’s not fair,’ he added.

The deadlock in talks is believed to be largely focussed on salary negotiations with Bayern so far unwilling to match the fee being demanded by the young talent.

Davies is widely-viewed as one of the best full-backs in the modern game and would be a golden target for other top clubs if the standoff continues.

Bayern have so far offered an annual package of £12m, while the player is expected to be wanting closer to £17m per annum to extend his stay.
