The latest season of Ginny & Georgia, Season 3, is now out. The focus in these new episodes is mainly on Georgia’s (Brianne Howey) trial for murder and how she, along with Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Austin (Diesel La Torraca), are dealing with it. The series created by Sarah Lampert also gives attention to the various supporting characters.
Aside from Marcus (Felix Mallard) and Max (Sara Waisglass), we also delve deeper into Abby Littman’s (Katie Douglas) life. This includes her struggles with disordered eating habits, her romantic involvements, and even her exploration of her sexual orientation.
In the previous season, Abby was involved in a secret physical relationship with Matt Press (Damian Romeo). Although there was strong physical chemistry between them, Press treated Abby poorly, displaying rudeness and disrespect. As Season 3 unfolds, viewers hoped that either Press would improve his behavior or Abby would find someone who respected her. The desire for Abby to move on from toxic relationships was fulfilled, bringing satisfaction to the audience. Furthermore, during this journey, Abby started to discover and embrace her own sexual identity.
So who does Abby end up with on Ginny & Georgia Season 3? Is Abby gay on Ginny & Georgia? And what do we know about Katie Douglas, the actor who plays Abby? We’ve got answers. Just be warned that Ginny & Georgia Season 3 spoilers lie ahead.
Based on Abby’s earlier scenes with Press, viewers may have assumed that Douglas’ character was straight, but in Season 3, Abby questions her feelings for Press and her sexuality. After realizing what she’s basically always known, that Press is a jerk, Abby tries to confront Samantha (Romi Shraiter) about their disordered eating, but Sam misreads the signals and kisses Abby instead.
The kiss clearly catches Abby off-guard and makes her question what she really wants in a romantic partner. As the season progresses and she starts getting tutored by Marcus’ friend, Tris (Noah Lamanna), Abby starts to develop feelings for them. While Abby doesn’t explicitly label her sexual identity, she’s actively exploring it in Season 3 (and presumably beyond). So who does Abby end up with at the end of this season?
Does Abby get back with Press? Explore things with Sam? Or confront her feelings for Tris? In Season 3, Episode 9, when Abby and Tris are studying on the floor of Abby’s room, they lean in for a kiss only to be interrupted by Abby’s mom. Once she leaves, Tris tells Abby that they’re down to explore a romantic connection, but that she has to initiate something between them. So Abby kisses Tris, and the two seem incredibly happy and at ease! In the season finale, we learn that Abby is off to be a camp counselor for the summer, so we’ll have to wait and see what — if anything — Ginny & Georgia Season 4 has in store for her and Tris. Until then, let’s learn more about the actor who plays Abby, shall we? (You can learn more about Lamanna, who plays Tris, here.)
As noted, Abby is played by Katie Douglas, a 26-year-old Canadian actress who kickstarted her TV career at age nine. Per IMDb, since starring in an episode of F2: Forensic Factor in 2007, Douglas has appeared in more than 30 television series and films, including Spooksville, Defiance, Mary Kills People, Raising Expectations, Pretty Hard Cases, Clown in a Cornfield, and more.
Since Ginny & Georgia was already renewed for Season 4, we’ll almost certainly see Douglas back on screen as Abby.
