Painesville say the shooting is not related to the Spring Block Party that was held on Main Street Saturday evening.
PAINESVILLE, Ohio — Police in Painesville are investigating a shooting that happened Saturday night.
According to police, the shooting took place at North State Street and Erie Street, shutting down parts of the road near that intersection.
There is limited information available regarding the shooting incident. Authorities have confirmed that the shooting is unrelated to the Spring Block Party organized by the Painesville Community Improvement Corporation on Main Street over the weekend. They have reassured the public that there is no danger posed to them.
Residents were enjoying a cookout when they saw vehicles speeding down the road.Â
One resident, Shannon Coss, recounted the moments leading up to the shooting. She mentioned that prior to the sound of gunshots, there was a sense that someone was being pursued. Coss described how cars began blocking each other in, and then suddenly the gunshots rang out in quick succession.
