Sparks flew between Nicole Scherzinger and Thom Evans the moment they first laid eyes on each other in late 2019.
The couple first crossed paths on the set of The X Factor: Celebrity in the U.K., where Nicole Scherzinger served as a judge alongside Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh. Thom Evans, a former rugby player, participated in the star-studded spinoff of the singing competition as part of the boy band Try Star, alongside fellow athletes Ben Foden and Levi Davis. Try Star finished the competition in fifth place.
As the season progressed, Scherzinger and Evans began to show mutual interest, with sparks flying during one of their performances. A memorable moment occurred when Evans stripped off his shirt and got drenched in rain while singing X Ambassadors’ “Boom,” prompting a wild reaction from Scherzinger.
Following the conclusion of The X Factor: Celebrity in November 2019, Scherzinger and Evans were seen getting cozy and sharing kisses at a bar in London. They later made their official public debut as a couple in January 2020 at an afterparty for the Golden Globes, stepping out together on the red carpet.
“Nicole and Thom got very serious very quickly,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in August 2020. “They are infatuated with each other and complement one another well. They’re super cute and have a blast together. Nicole feels very lucky to have found Thom.”
