‘Morning Joe’ Hacks Absurdly Debate: Who’s More Macho About LA Riots—Homan or Newsom?

In this episode of “Governor Hair Gel vs. Border Czar Tom Homan”…

During the fourth day of anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles, which followed federal immigration raids and the deployment of National Guard troops as ordered by President Donald Trump, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” show engaged in a debate about the toughness of Border Czar Tom Homan and California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D).

No, really.

Clips were shown of NBC/MSNBC correspondent Jacob Soboroff interviewing Homan and Newsom regarding the administration’s response to the violent protests. The coverage also included remarks from Soboroff and “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski.

Instead of addressing the escalating issues such as the violent riots (referred to as “peaceful protests” by some Democrats), confrontations in downtown L.A., Paramount, and Compton, and incidents like protesters blocking freeways, damaging self-driving cars, and directly engaging with ICE agents and law enforcement, “Morning Joe” chose to focus on a comparison of toughness between Homan and Newsom.

Can’t make this stuff up, gang. Thankfully, left-wing media hacks already did.

Soboroff kicked off the ridiculous festivities (emphasis, mine):

NEWSOM: Well, under his executive order, and specifically notes, and under what the DOD did, is they had to coordinate with the governor of the state. They never coordinated with the governor of the state. We talked for almost 20 minutes, and barely, this issue never came up. And I kept trying to talk about L.A. He wanted to talk about all these other issues. We had a very decent conversation.

SOBOROFF: When was this?

NEWSOM: This was late Friday night, about 1.30 plus his time.

SOBOROFF: After the protests that started here?

NEWSOM: After the protests. And he never once brought up the National Guard. He’s a stone-cold liar. He said he did. Stone-cold liar. Never did. It was a very civil conversation. I’ve always wanted to approach engagement with the President of the United States in a respectful and responsible way.

Newsom added: “There’s no working with the president.
