The Baldwin Park Police Department issued a separate statement reiterating it does not participate in the enforcement of civil immigration laws.
The Police Chief of Baldwin Park, Robert Lopez, clarified that the local police force is not partaking in any activities linked to immigration enforcement. He stated, “Our Baldwin Park police officers are not involved with immigration enforcement activities, and in no way are we participating in their federal actions.” Lopez emphasized the department’s dedication to upholding a community where residents feel valued, supported, and secure.
Moreover, Lopez made a plea to the public, urging citizens not to engage in violence towards law enforcement, vandalize property, or take part in any unlawful activities directed at officers.
