Downtown Cleveland kicks off Christmas season with WinterLand Tree Lighting Festival in Public Square

The tree lighting ceremony in downtown Cleveland will take place at 6 p.m.

CLEVELAND — The holiday season will be here before you know it, and Downtown Cleveland has announced how it will kick off its Christmas festivities. 

Downtown Cleveland, Inc. will hold its annual WinterLand Tree Lighting Festival in Public Square on Saturday, Nov. 30. 

The event will bring fireworks, food trucks and live performances to visitors under the dazzling holiday lights. 

Michael Deemer, the President and CEO of Downtown Cleveland, highlighted the significance of WinterLand, emphasizing how it has become a cherished part of the holiday traditions for many Cleveland residents over the last four decades. Each year, the event brings the community together in the city center, creating a festive atmosphere that spreads holiday cheer throughout downtown.

Winterland Tree Lighting Festival Schedule

  • 3 p.m. – Food trucks, DJ, face painting, ice skating and holiday wreath toss 
  • 4 p.m. – SHOUT! Band 
  • 4:30 p.m. – Ice skating show followed by Skate with the Stars 
  • 5 p.m. – Pop Fusion Dance Party 
  • 5:30 p.m. – Cleveland All-City Musical  
  • 6 p.m. – Tree Lighting Ceremony 
  • Fireworks Spectacular immediately following Tree Lighting Ceremony

Downtown Cleveland, Inc. is also organizing a raffle as part of the WinterLand festivities. Participants have the opportunity to win tickets to popular holiday shows such as Pentatonix and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. To enter the raffle, individuals can make a donation through the provided link.
