Cher is involved in a heated conflict with her son Elijah Blue Allman’s estranged wife. The situation has intensified following reports of Elijah’s relapse and subsequent hospitalization.
Insiders have laid bare the politics behind the drama, which they claim is tearing the family apart.Â
Allman is currently divorcing his wife, Marieangela ‘Queenie’ King, who has supported him throughout multiple legal battles.Â
A source close to the situation revealed that the pop icon is pointing fingers at Marieangela, a common occurrence according to the insider. The source accused Cher of avoiding accountability in these challenging moments.
Elijah Blue Allman, 48, is the son of Cher, 79, and her second spouse, the late guitarist Gregg Allman. He has been battling addiction issues for a long time. Cher is also a mother to Chaz Bono, 56, who is her transgender son from her earlier marriage to Sonny Bono.
His reported overdose and hospitalization comes only a month after the musician appeared to hit rock bottom. In exclusive footage obtained by the Daily Mail, a zombie-like Allman was seen staggering outside the star-studded Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.Â

Cher is embroiled in an explosive feud with her son Elijah Blue Allman’s estranged wife and, following his reported relapse, it has only become more volatile

Allman overdosed this weekend, according to TMZ, just one month after the Daily Mail captured zombie-like footage of Cher’s beloved son stumbling around outside the star-studded Chateau Marmont
‘His overdose was ignited by the pain of Father’s Day because he loved his dad more than anything on earth and he was the only person who he felt he could trust,’ the insider told the Daily Mail.
A source told TMZÂ that the performer’s youngest child ‘was rushed to the hospital in Joshua Tree, California, after overdosing earlier Saturday morning’. It remained unknown what drugs were involved but that he was ‘receiving the best care possible’.
Allman has returned to living at the famed Chateau Marmont, where he was found passed out in 2023 – a moment that prompted Cher to step in.Â
He had previously been locked in a court battle with his mother after she tried, and failed, to secure a conservatorship.
This is just the latest development in a years-long bitter feud between Cher and King. It reportedly began when King and Allman became engaged in December 2013. At the time, Cher, the Believe hitmaker, allegedly refused to congratulate the couple.Â
According to a source: ‘Elijah and Cher ended up in a legal battle when she tried to get a conservatorship over him in court, claiming he wasn’t capable of making his own decisions.
‘From the beginning, she had major issues with Marieangela and did everything she could to come between them, even secretly sending Elijah to a facility in Mexico without telling anyone.
‘He was in terrible shape, and it was Marieangela who had to fly down to save him.’Â
Speaking to the Daily Mail in February 2014, Allman said of the dynamic: ‘You’ve got two strong women, two big bulls in the pen. I think there’s a respect and I think they butt heads a little bit.’

Cher is ‘already blaming Elijah’s wife, Marieangela [King], like she always does when things go wrong’, said a source who accused the pop icon of never taking ‘responsibility’Â

‘His overdose was ignited by the pain of Father’s Day because he loved his dad more than anything on earth and he was the only person who he felt he could trust,’ our insider said (Cher pictured with eldest son – now Chaz Bono – and Elijah in 1981)
Ever since the Mexico incident, Cher and Marieangela’s issues have frequently come to a head, with the insider confirming that ‘their relationship only got more strained after that’.Â
Marieangela, 37, opposed the conservatorship, and stood by her husband’s side during the ensuing messy public dispute.Â
The couple have long had a tumultuous relationship. King filed for divorce from Allman on April 7, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’, and seeking $6,000 a month in spousal support and ‘exclusive use of [their] 2017 Toyota Prius’, according to court documents previously seen by the Daily Mail.
Cher and her troubled son have been embroiled in their own legal battle, with ‘long-standing tension over Elijah’s inheritance and how much control Cher has tried to keep over his finances’, the insider said.Â
She had argued in her petition to the court that Elijah’s drug addiction made him unable to manage his trust fund. The Oscar winner filed for a temporary sole conservatorship over his finances in 2023, arguing that he suffered from ‘severe mental health and substance abuse issues’, but ultimately withdrew the petition in September 2024.
‘Elijah was doing better for a while, trying to get clean and take back his independence but he became more isolated over time,’ our source said.Â
In a 2014 interview, Allman revealed he began using drugs, like marijuana and ecstasy, at the age of 11, and said he’d been near to overdosing several times.Â

Allman is back to living at the famed Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles, where he was found passed out in 2023, prompting his mother to intervene
‘I [was] just looking to escape all the things in my past and, that’s when you turn to those kind of drugs, you know heroin and opiates,’ he told ET. ‘[Heroin] kind of saved me… If I didn’t have that at that point, I don’t know what I would have done… You may jump off a bridge. If you can only just go through that time period and live through it and then get help.’
Allman also revealed that he had ‘some close calls and some moments of really feeling at the edge of mortality’.Â
Now, it appears that he is struggling again.Â
‘The people who truly cared, especially Marieangela, were pushed out,’ the insider said, ‘and when things got bad again, he had no one left to turn to.’Â
The Daily Mail reached out to a representative for Cher but has received no response.Â
