The new season of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” is jam-packed with stars competing to win $1 million for the charity of their choice.
But one name stuck out to us, and to Kimmel himself.
Matt Damon and “Jeopardy!” host Ken Jennings will team up together in the upcoming season. In a sneak peek of the season, Jennings expresses his admiration for Damon, while Jimmy Kimmel jokingly remarks that he will be appearing on the show with someone he dislikes.
The playful rivalry between Kimmel and Damon has been ongoing for almost two decades, starting on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” when Kimmel humorously claimed they had no time for Damon on the show, even when Damon wasn’t scheduled to appear. This ongoing joke has now spilled over to their participation in “Millionaire.”
Among the other celebrity duos set to compete are Joe Buck and Oliver Hudson, Helen Hunt and Dan Bucatinsky, Joel McHale and Jim Rash from “Community,” Kal Penn and Jameela Jamil from “Mira, Royal Detective,” Brad Goreski and Gary Janetti, Jake Tapper and Kaitlan Collins from CNN, Mike Birbiglia and Atsuko Okatsuka, Tramell Tillman and Zach Cherry from “Severance,” Adam Devine and Anders Holm from “Workaholics,” Kate Flannery and Oscar Nuñez from “The Office,” Drew Carey and Aisha Tyler from “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, Sarah Silverman & Marc Maron, Jordan Klepper and Ronny Chieng from “The Daily Show,” Jillian Bell and Chloe Fineman from “Summer of 69,” and Asif Ali & Saagar Shaikh from “Deli Boys.”
The season premiere of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” airs Wednesday, July 23, at 8 pm EST/ 7pm CST on ABC. It streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
