THE small boats crisis in the English Channel is “deteriorating”, Downing Street admitted today.
Sir Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron held crucial discussions on addressing the issue of illegal migration following their meeting at the G7 summit in Canada.



It is believed to be the first time No10 has categorically stated the small boat saga is getting worse not better.
No10 said Sir Keir and Mr Macron agreed they must “find innovative ways” to battle the onslaught of dinghies reaching British shores.
According to the Prime Minister’s spokesperson, both leaders discussed plans for the upcoming UK-France summit in July, emphasizing the need for achieving positive results that benefit citizens of both countries.
They highlighted the importance of focusing on migration due to the worsening conditions in the English Channel, and agreed to collaborate closely with other allies to explore new approaches for making significant advancements in this area.

A shocking 16,000 migrants have made the dangerous journey across the channel this year.
