A man from Texas is going to prison for imprisoning a pregnant woman in his RV and brutally attacking her until she lost consciousness. Prosecutors revealed that he cruelly told the pregnant woman, “Welcome to Hell House,” before unleashing a brutal assault by punching, kicking, and kneeing her.

Andrew Gutierrez, aged 35, has been handed a sentence of 25 years behind bars after being found guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the incident that occurred in 2024. This comes in addition to a previous conviction in 2016 for “assault family violence continuous,” for which he served a five-year prison term.

In January 2024, law enforcement in Bryan, located approximately 100 miles east of Austin, responded to a 911 call that had been abruptly cut off, leading them to the man’s residence. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim in a severely beaten state, in urgent need of immediate medical attention, as stated in a press release issued by the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office.

First responders documented “severe bruising” and swelling to the victim’s face, stomach, and chest. The victim reported that she was 11 weeks pregnant at the time.

“Police spoke with the victim, who stated that she and the defendant got into an argument,” the DA’s office said. “The defendant then locked her in the RV and stated ‘Welcome to Hell House,’ threatening to make sure she didn’t have the baby.”

Gutierrez grabbed the woman by her hair and “repeatedly punched her in the face and stomach” before grabbing a 10-inch kitchen knife. He threatened to kill her and held the knife up to her neck before continuing his attack.

“The victim begged him to stop, and he threw the knife on a table but continued punching, kicking, and kneeing the victim until she lost consciousness,” the DA’s office said. “While the defendant was outside the RV disposing of evidence from the crime scene, the victim called 911, gave an address, and hung up.”

The woman told Gutierrez she needed medical attention, so he forced her to “fabricate a story” about two female individuals assaulting her “so that he would not get in trouble,” the DA’s office reports. “Bryan Police responded quickly to the scene and were able to place the defendant in custody and figure out what actually happened,” the office said.
