Body Identified as Missing Oregon Woman; Estranged Husband Arrested

An Oregon woman went missing a week ago, and her estranged husband is now facing charges of second-degree murder. The authorities made an arrest on Friday, the same day a body was discovered approximately four miles away from where the woman’s abandoned truck was located last week.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday afternoon the body was that of 61-year-old Susan Lane-Fournier, who was reported missing on November 22 when she failed to show up for work.

Lane-Fournier’s pickup truck was located on Salmon River Road near the Green Canyon Way Trail, south of Welches, as CrimeOnline reported.

The search for Lane-Fournier began on Saturday and abruptly ended on Tuesday, when Clackamas County officials suspended the search “based on weather conditions and the likelihood of survivability.”

Clackamas County officials said an autopsy determined Lane-Fournier’s manner of death was homicide, although they did not disclose the cause of death.

Michel Fournier, Lane Fournier’s 71-year-old husband of 12 years, was booked on Friday into the Clackamas County jail on second degree murder charges, shortly after the discovery of the body. He’s being held without bail, jail records show.
