President Trump is known for his sense of humor, which shines through even in serious situations. A recent anecdote shared by Vice President JD Vance perfectly illustrates this unique trait.
It’s a solid moment of levity following a long day of Trump delivering several fiery comments toward Israel and the Squad.
During a speech at the Ohio Republican Party dinner in Lima, Ohio, Vance recounted a memorable moment from early in their administration. He described a tense diplomatic call in the Oval Office, during which Trump was struggling to communicate with an unnamed foreign leader.
That’s when the President decided to send his Veep into a full-blown panic.
Amidst the difficulty, Trump glanced at Vance, muted the foreign leader, and lightheartedly remarked, “This is not going very well,” before pressing a red button. Vance was taken aback by the unexpected turn of events and asked the President for an explanation, showcasing Trump’s ability to bring humor into even the most challenging situations.
“He looks at me and goes, ‘Nuclear.'”
After a brief moment of shock, it was revealed that Trump had not, in fact, pushed the nuclear launch button, easing the tension in the room with laughter.
“Two minutes later, a guy walks in with a Diet Coke, and he looks back at me and says, ‘It wasn’t nuclear, it’s just the Diet Coke button,'” Vance said to laughter. “So that’s the kind of guy, my fellow Republicans, we have as the President of the United States.”
President Trump’s sense of humor is too damn good.
