A well-known fitness influencer, who gained popularity for his unusual eating habits, was apprehended on Tuesday following accusations of sharing menacing messages directed at podcaster Joe Rogan in a series of Instagram videos, as revealed by authorities.
The individual in question, Brian Johnson, recognized on social media as “Liver King,” was arrested by the Austin Police Department in a highly publicized event captured on camera and uploaded to his personal Instagram account, the police department confirmed.
Law enforcement officials were made aware of a string of purported threats made by Johnson towards Rogan online. Subsequently, they discovered that Johnson was en route to Rogan’s place of residence in Austin while persisting in issuing these alleged threats, authorities explained.

Johnson, who boasts a whopping 2.9 million followers on Instagram, frequently posts about his self-described “ancestral lifestyle” and fitness routines, often sharing videos dedicated to his diet consisting primarily of raw meat.Â
Rogan previously discussed Johnson’s alleged use of steroids on a 2023 episode of his podcast, with Johnson initially denying the claims before issuing an apology to his viewers.Â
Johnson was charged with allegedly making a terroristic threat and transported to the Travis County Jail, according to APD.Â
Representatives for both Rogan and Johnson did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment.
