NBC affiliate WFMJ reports multiple dead after a fatal plane crash on Sunday morning.
TRUMBULL COUNTY, Ohio — According to NBC affiliate WFMJ, six people have died after a Sunday morning plane crash in Howland Township.
Per the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a call was placed at around 7:01 a.m. alerting them of a plane crash at the intersection of King Graves Road and Henn Hyde Road.
The plane was said to have crashed in the backyard of a residence in the area.
WFMJ confirmed that two of the deceased were crew members, while the remaining four victims were passengers.
A post-crash press briefing, covered by WFMJ, highlighted Howland Township Fire Chief Raymond Pace’s statement, deeming the incident as the most fatal in the region’s records.
The National Transportation and Safety Board confirmed that the plane was a Cessna 441 after an initial investigation.
An investigation is ongoing. 3News reached out to Howland County and Ohio State Highway Patrol officials but has yet to receive a response.
