A Texas woman is facing charges after police say she left a 4-year-old inside a daycare van Friday, at the Learning Club Preschool in Brownsville.
Karen Silva, aged 36, is being charged with a serious crime of causing the death of a child due to injuries, as reported by ValleyCentral. This unfortunate incident took place when Brownsville police discovered an unresponsive child in a van parked on Paredes Line Road in the 3900 block.
First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Upon receiving the distressing news, officers were quickly alerted about the situation. They were informed that a 4-year-old child was found unresponsive inside a daycare van. Emergency Medical Services from Brownsville promptly arrived on the scene and, sadly, declared the child deceased, as disclosed by the Brownsville police through a Facebook post.
The victim’s name and manner of death has not yet been revealed. Police will provide additional updates as the investigation continues.
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this incredibly difficult time,” police said.
