Giant Eagle announces deal to sell all GetGo locations completed: How your myPerks will be affected

“The sale of the GetGo business marks an important moment in Giant Eagle’s history,” said Bill Artman, President and CEO of Giant Eagle.

Giant Eagle has recently confirmed the sale of all GetGo locations to Couche-Tard, the parent company of Circle K. This agreement, which was initially announced in August of 2024, has now been finalized.

So what does this mean for you when it comes to all those fuel perks at the gas pump?

In a recent press release, Giant Eagle stated that the sale will ensure a seamless transition for customers, allowing them to still enjoy the benefits of the popular myPerks loyalty program at both Giant Eagle and GetGo locations without any disruption.

As part of the deal, Giant Eagle and Couche-Tard will work together to expand and enhance the myPerks loyalty program. Customers will continue to earn and redeem rewards not only at Giant Eagle but also at GetGo locations. Moreover, customers who are part of the myPerks Pay Direct and AdvantagePAY programs will still receive instant fuel discounts at GetGo.

In celebration of the transaction’s completion and the new loyalty partnership, GetGo will offer customers a free self-serve beverage and will be awarding three times the perks on every gallon of fuel purchased with a myPerks loyalty card at all GetGo locations on Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20

“The sale of the GetGo business marks an important moment in Giant Eagle’s history,” said Bill Artman, President and CEO of Giant Eagle, in a statement. “It is both a catalyst for investment into the communities we have served for more than 90 years and an assurance that one of the most valuable savings opportunities we provide to customers – our myPerks loyalty program – will remain with earning and redemption options at both Giant Eagle and GetGo.”

Giant Eagle says the sale of its GetGo businesses will allow the company “to focus on growing its core supermarket and pharmacy businesses to better serve customers across more than 200 locations. In the coming months, the company plans to announce a series of initiatives aimed at expanding the offerings and value it delivers across the communities it serves.”

What Couche-Tard is saying about the agreement

“GetGo has earned a passionate following in the communities it serves thanks to an amazing team delivering a best-in-class food offer, in-store experience and loyalty program,” said Alex Miller, President and CEO of Couche-Tard. “We’re excited that they are now part of the Couche-Tard family, and we look forward to investing in the brand, empowering its continued success, and collaborating closely with Giant Eagle to create even more value for the customers we serve together.”
