‘1923’ Star Danielle Vasinova Recounts Haunting Near-Death Experience After Suffering “Complete Organ Failure”

Danielle Vasinova, an actress from the show 1923, a spinoff of Yellowstone, shared that she experienced a three-minute period of death due to being infected with Covid-19 back in 2019.

Speaking to People, Vasinova recounted the harrowing experience she had after being hospitalized in December 2019. The actress explained that she sought medical attention in Los Angeles after she felt like she was “coming down with the flu”months before the virus was widespread in the United States.

“They decided it was strep and sent me home with some antibiotics,” she recalled. “But by the next day, I could barely walk. My legs wouldn’t move. It was bizarre.”

“I felt like I was going to die,” she added.

She said her uncle rushed her to the emergency room that evening, where they performed life-saving measures in what felt “like a scene out of a movie,” the outlet reports.

Vasinova recalled, “He said people were running around me, and a tiny girl jumped on top of my chest and began pumping, pumping, pumping. And then he saw my heartbeat on the monitor just go. Flatlined.”

The actress explained that she flatlined for three full minutes as an ER nurse tried to revive her. Once they got her pulse back, she was transferred to the ICU and put into an induced coma.

Vasinova said she views the experience as a “turning point” that has helped her connect more with her faith and spirituality.

“I had complete organ failure,” she said. “I went from young and healthy to this infection that completely took over my body all of a sudden. It just came on, and it just rocked my world.”

While she didn’t “the light or a tunnel,” Vasinova said, she did “start to see a lot of angel numbers everywhere. I would see sequences like 5555, 7777. It was bizarre, but something was telling me, ‘There’s something more for you. You weren’t meant to go just yet. You’re meant to do something else.’”

Vasinova revealed she later returned to thank the nurse responsible for saving her life.

“I didn’t know if she was going to recognize me, but when she opened the door, I started crying, and she just lost it,” she recalled. “She told me she never knows who lives or dies after they get transferred. She just gave me the biggest hug. Because I’d been gone for three full minutes. But I came back.”

Vasinova has since starred opposite Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford in 1923, where she played Ata Waipa in Season 2. And her role in the Sheridan-verse is only expanding; she was also recently cast in the Michelle Pfeiffer-led series The Madison.
