NBC Unveils First Teaser Trailer For Prison Drama ‘The Hunting Party’

NBC has unveiled the first teaser trailer for its upcoming crime procedural, The Hunting Party.

An exclusive group of detectives is up against a formidable obstacle in the series when a major breach in security at a top-secret maximum-security prison results in the escape of some of the most notorious criminals worldwide. Melissa Roxburgh, known for her roles in “Manifest” and “Quantum Leap,” plays the character Rebecca Henderson, a former FBI agent appointed to head the operation to apprehend the escapees.

Set to a chilling rendition of Blondie’s “One Way Or Another,” the teaser introduces “The Pit,” an underground, hexagonal prison described in a voiceover as “a classified facility housing the most violent and dangerous criminals the world has ever known.”

After a mysterious explosion rocks the prison, Rebecca—nicknamed “Bex”—must not only hunt down the escapees but also uncover the truth behind the catastrophic event. The 30-second teaser packs in high-stakes action, including the explosion itself, high-speed car chases, intense fight scenes, and a glimpse of a dead body, all underscoring the chaos Bex and her team must confront.

Joining Roxburgh in The Hunting Party are Nick Wechsler (Revenge, Chicago PD) as Oliver Odell, Patrick Sabongui (Homeland, The Flash) as Ryan Hassani, Josh McKenzie (La Brea) as Shane Florence, and Sara Garcia (Ride, The Flash) as Jennifer Morales. Kyra Leroux (Riverdale) also appears in a recurring role.

The show’s co-showrunners, JJ Bailey (creator) and Jake Coburn, serve as writers and executive producers, with Thor Freudenthal directing the pilot and also executive producing. Keto Shimizu is on board as both a writer and executive producer. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces the series.

The Hunting Party debuts Monday, Feb. 3, at 10/9c on NBC, following the season premiere of The Voice.
