COPS are desperately searching for a missing seven-year-old boy after he vanished from his home almost 24 hours ago.
Jacob Baer was reported missing last night by his heartbroken family with officers finding what they believe to be the boy’s belongings in a river.
Young Jacob – a 3ft 5in and 56 pounds elementary school student – vanished at around 4:36pm from around Veteran’s Park, 1818 School St.
He was last seen hours around the Two Rivers area in Wisconsin.
Cops quickly launched an appeal to help find the missing boy with the Two Rivers Police Department sharing a tragic update early this morning.
They have found several items which they fear may have belonged to Jacob.
The police department shared on Facebook that law enforcement discovered multiple items, which they believe belong to Jacob, in the water of the West Twin River last night.
“A search of this area of interest and additional resources are being coordinated for operations later this morning.
“We will update you with further information as it becomes available.”
Investigations are ongoing into if the items are his after they were collected by police in the water of the West Twin River.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources have now identified the river as “an area of interest”.
The Coast Guard Ice Search and Rescue Team, the local fire department and police dogs have also been deployed to the area.
Jacob, from Manitowoc County, has blue eyes and shaggy blond hair.
His family say he was last seen wearing a black jacket with green on the hood, black pants, and size 13 RealTree camouflage shoes.
The news of the missing boy has sparked concern from across the local community.
Dozens of friends and neighbours have been helping to hunt for any clues with the authorities urging everyone to stay safe.
A post from the police says: “We understand that many of you in the community wish to help.
“The ice on the river is very thin and dangerous so we don’t want anyone in those areas as emergency crews are equipped to deal with these dangers.”
