Moment passenger nearly dragged to his DEATH by train pulling into station as horrified travellers helplessly watch

THIS is the horrifying moment a passenger was nearly dragged to his death by a train pulling into the station.

CCTV footage shows the train clip a man’s shoulder while he waits on the platform at London Blackfriars.

In the hair-raising video, released by Godiva Thameslink, the passenger is knocked to the floor.

His legs appear to narrowly miss being pulled underneath the carriage as he kicks himself back to safety.

Terrified commuters watch in shock before rushing over to his aid.

By miracle, the man was left unharmed, but GTR has since warned rail users about the importance of waiting behind the yellow line.

Samantha Facey, Health Safety & Security Director at Thameslink and Great Northern, emphasized the importance of passenger safety during the busy festive season. With an increase in the number of travelers, she stressed the need for individuals to take personal responsibility for their safety alongside the assistance provided by staff.

“We had over 150 incidents of slips, trips and falls on the network last winter and these can be extremely dangerous on the railway.

Facey advised passengers to plan their journeys with ample time to avoid rushing for trains and to adhere to safety guidelines such as staying behind the yellow lines on platforms. These simple measures can significantly contribute to ensuring a safe and smooth travel experience for everyone.

“Following these simple steps will help you to get home safely this Christmas.”

In October we shared nail-biting footage of a girl unknowingly run directly into path of speeding train on level crossing.

She and another pedestrian, who appears to be an older person carrying a shopping bag, ran for their lives, narrowly escaping death.

RAIL HORROR Watch girl run directly into path of speeding TRAIN on level crossing

The clip was shared by Network Rail as it issued a stark warning about misusing level crossings.

Highlighting the concerning statistics, the rail operator reported 466 instances of level crossing misuse and 28 near misses on their Wessex route in the 2023-24 financial year. These incidents underscore the critical importance of following safety protocols to prevent accidents and protect both passengers and staff.

Level crossings are one of the biggest public safety risks on the railway, Network Rail says.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, more CCTV showed the moment a hero commuter leapt on to railway tracks to rescue a toddler.

The brave act came just 22 seconds before a train thundered past.

The three-year-old had been walking along the platform and started to lower himself over the edge before falling on to the track.

Warrick Dent, safety and operations director at LNER, said: “Thankfully incidents like the one captured on the CCTV are rare, but they do happen.

“We know that travelling with children can be challenging. Navigating buggies and luggage through a busy station can be stressful.

“So, we want to make sure parents and carers are aware of the services we have available which can make their journey with us smoother and safer.”
