An AMBER Alert is still active for a Texas girl who vanished from her family home earlier this month.
A 15-year-old girl named Alexa Jones went missing from her Katy home on December 12. According to her family who spoke to KRIV, she disappeared after a family game or movie night they had at home.
According to them, Jones has never run away before. She reportedly has a phone that only works with Wi-Fi.
It was reported by TK that Jones sent a couple of emails to her sister on December 14 and 15. One of the emails mentioned that she was safe and that a stranger at a Starbucks allowed her to charge her phone.
In one of the emails, she wrote, “I’m leaving Starbucks because the stranger had to go. My phone’s not charged much but let me clear my thoughts. I’m about to call them to pick me up. Is momma and the baby OK,” as per the alleged email content.
According to KPRC, the family believes Jones left the home via a side gate to avoid being filmed by a doorbell camera.
An AMBER Alert was issued for Jones on December 19, a week after her disappearance.
“Law enforcement believes she is in imminent danger,” the active alert says.
Jones was described as standing 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, and having auburn hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, gray sweatpants, and prescription glasses.
Anyone with information regarding Jones’ whereabouts is asked to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit at 713-755-7427 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-847.
