ALL American Airlines flights have reportedly been grounded, sparking widespread travel chaos on Christmas Eve.
Passengers have slammed the carrier, fuming that they’re sitting on planes waiting for information as their travel plans have seemingly been upended.
One traveler, who is on a flight to Miami from St. Louis, urged the company to provide information.
“We’re currently experiencing a technical issue with all American Airlines flights,” the company said.
“Your safety is our utmost priority, once this is rectified, we’ll have you safely on your way to your destination.”
Travelers have begged for updates, but officials have said they’re working to fix the problem.
“An estimated timeframe has not been provided, but they’re trying to fix it in the shortest possible time,” a representative said.
Frustrated travelers have said they are bored and have begged the airline to provide snacks in response.
Others have been left fearing for their connecting flights.
“Will flights get shifted to the right,” one traveler posted on X.
“It’s our honeymoon. This is a horrific inconvenience last minute.”
Travelers have mentioned experiencing wait times when trying to make their next flights from George Bush Airport in Houston, and there are issues with the operation of systems at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Ground stops across the country have reportedly been imposed.
