Lorde has updated her social media with a single post after deleting everything from the account.

The 27-year-old singer shared a rare bikini selfie as she sat in a Toyota car during a visit to New Zealand on Monday.

One photo shows Lorde behind the wheel of the vehicle while wearing a red and white graphic strapless print swimwear top.

She added a pair of white jeans, as well as a cap with writing across the front and sunglasses.

A second image showed Lorde riding in a helicopter, again in sunnies, with a stunning view outside the window.

In her caption, the Royals hitmaker simply added an emoji wearing sunglasses and a tree.

Lorde has recently made a comeback on social media by sharing a single post after removing all content from her account. The 27-year-old singer surprised fans with a rare bikini selfie taken while sitting in a Toyota car during a recent visit to New Zealand.

Last month, Lorde sparked concern after she shared a series of photos on Instagram, revealing a black eye.

Earlier this year, the mysterious decision to delete all her social media posts raised questions among followers. Despite not offering any explanation for the action, Lorde’s fans began speculating about the reasons behind it.

Following her recent post, reactions from fans varied. Some expressed concern and sent well wishes, while others speculated whether the post signaled the beginning of a new project or conveyed a hidden message.

‘Lorde, are you ok?,’ asked one follower, as another commented, ‘This new album is gonna break the internet.’

Her cryptic caption only deepened the confusion among her legion of fans, as she wrote, ‘DYHTS? ©ĿŁု⑷♶⚤,’ leaving many puzzled by the strange symbols and unclear message.

‘And like what does the caption mean ?? this is so weird,’ wrote a Reddit user. ‘I’m hoping she just accidentally hit her face on something but like idk like I can recognise the male-female linking symbol in her caption which means like a woman and man together, right? idk what the rest means, so strange…’

Another fan commented, ‘Girl, you are so confusing.’

The Royals hitmaker shared several close-up shots of her bruised face, followed by a photo of herself smiling and about to dig into a banana split, with the injury still clearly visible.

She also posted a photo of a ProHealth Advanced Imaging disc, along with a snapshot of a hat emblazoned with the phrase ‘Do you have the stones?’

One fan seemed impressed by the mysterious post, commenting, ‘Excellent way to re-enter social media. Lead with the black eye and the enigmatic baseball cap. I like it, Lorde, I like it. Keep these people on their toes.’

On August 13, Lorde wiped her social media, with fans speculating the move indicates new music is incoming.

Fellow pop star Taylor Swift has employed a similar tactic when teasing new album releases, and recently, Lorde has also embraced a more cryptic approach in her posts.

In June, the singer uploaded a series of puzzling photos that seemed to tease new music.

One image showed her in a long black dress, gazing over a balcony, while another captured the moment she spat off the edge.

Adding to the intrigue, she shared a close-up of her hand holding a tablet with the word ‘spit’ written on it.

She wrote a short message, which read: ‘Use the existing tools wherever possible. If the tools do not exist you are spiritually obliged to create them.’

Fans were quick to speculate that her post might be a teaser for new music on the horizon.

‘So the lead single is called spit?’ one person questioned.

‘LORDE WHAT IS THIS PLEASE RELEASE AN ALBUM,’ another excited fan wrote while a third person commented: ‘Lorde’s new album is coming!’

The post was the only one on Lorde’s Instagram page at the time.

The Grammy Award-winning songwriter debuted two new tracks during her set at England’s Boardmasters Festival last year.

According to Vulture, the hitmaker played a pair of songs that were said to have been titled Silver Moon and Invisible Ink, although she later denied that those were the final names.

Although many fans suspected that Lorde was planning on releasing a new album, she took to her Instagram account at the time to express that she did not have a major project in the works.

She wrote: ‘This is not the start of anything out there, just want u to know there’s a light on inside me.’

When another fan commented that the hitmaker was trying to mislead her fanbase, she doubled down on her original denial.

‘I’m serious literally just decided to set these free from my laptop… but they’re not bad eh,’ she wrote.

Lorde’s most recently-released album Solar Power made its debut in August of 2021.
