Prosecutors are fighting to keep an alleged Jan. 6 rioter away from Donald Trump‘s inauguration.

Prosecutors stated that in their response to William Pope’s request to modify the terms of his release for the purpose of attending the presidential inauguration on Jan. 20, they expressed concerns about the potential danger Pope poses to the community in Washington, D.C. This includes a perceived threat to the law enforcement officers who protected the Capitol on January 6, 2021, and who continue to serve the residents of the District.
