SEE IT: Police Release Video, Photo of Texas Mall Shooter

The Austin Police Department has released a video and photo following a shooting that put Lakeline Mall on lockdown.

There was a shooting incident at Lakeline Mall on Thursday, which is situated on Lakeline Mall Drive in the 11200 block. According to CBS Austin, an argument between two groups at the mall’s food court turned violent, leading to a situation where evacuation became necessary.

The Austin Police Chief, Lisa Davis, mentioned that when officers arrived at the scene, they were uncertain about who else might still be inside the mall. As a precautionary measure, the mall immediately initiated its lockdown protocols.

Chief Davis speculated that the altercation originated from a quarrel involving four individuals who were observed fleeing after the gunshots. The Austin Police Department (APD) confirmed that despite their efforts, the suspects could not be located following the incident.

APD’s Aggravated Assault Unit detectives are requesting information regarding the incident and assistance in locating any suspects.

Detectives have released a photo, description, and video of the person suspected of being the shooter.

APD describes the suspected shooter as a “Hispanic male in his late teens to early 20s,” who was last seen wearing dark-colored pants, a hoodie, and shoes.

It was later determined that one individual sustained an injury. Police were initially unaware of the injury because the person left the scene and sought medical attention on their own, according to APD’s release.

Anyone with information should contact APD’s Aggravated Assault Unit at 512-974-5245. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org.

Tipsters can also call 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
