A WOMAN has issued a warning after she accidentally glued her eye shut when she mistook her eye drops for nail glue.
K’netha Faggart had to have her left eye cut open and will need to wear a patch for the next five to seven weeks.
The foster mother from Concord, North Carolina showed the nail glue and the eye drops next to each other to show how similar they look.
She was forced to get around using her daughter Ria’s help to guide her.
It is just really hard to see her like this, seeing her eyes and how they’re bruised and swollen,” Ria told local Fox affiliate FOX24.
Disaster struck when K’netha took out her contact lenses.
She grabbed what she thought was a bottle of eye drops from her desk.
Instead, it turned out to be a nail glue gun that she had left out for her daughter.
K’netha described the unbearable pain caused by the glue.
She described the intense burning sensation she felt after coming into contact with the substance. She hurried to the bathroom to wash it off but discovered that her finger had become glued to her eye when she attempted to rinse it with water.
She was rushed to hospital where doctors tried to flush the glue out of her eye and open it again.
But after several attempts to rinse it, K’netha’s eye was still sealed shut.
Eventually, an ophthalmologist was able to cut her eye open, removing a huge lump of glue.
But her eye was “scratched up everywhere,” she said, and there was still glue in the corner of her eye.
She will have to wear a patch for the next month or two but could have some permanent vision loss.
K’netha urged people to check carefully before putting anything in their eyes.
She added that her doctor had told her that her predicament was every common.
K’netha said that the doctor had personally treated five other similar cases in the past month.
It burned the holy c**p out of me.

Her daughter has set up a GoFundMe campaign to pay for her upkeep while she is out of work recuperating.
In the post, Ria says, “Hi, if you are here, then you have seen the viral video of my mother.
“She has glued her eye shut. Doctors are saying it will take 5-7 weeks before her eye opens, and then she will need to have it examined for damage.
“We appreciate all of the prayers and concern.
“She will be out of work and she is a foster mom, so she does not have disability. If you have anything, it would help! Thank you so much.”
The campaign has so far raised more than $1,500 out of its $3,500 goal.
