Timothée Chalamet is gearing up for a big night on Saturday Night Live.
The star of Dune and Call Me By Your Name is not only hosting the January 25 episode of SNL but will also take on the role of musical guest. This announcement comes after Chalamet’s recent Golden Globe nomination for his performance as Bob Dylan in the film A Complete Unknown.
This will be Chalamet’s third time hosting SNL. However, it will be his first time appearing as the musical performer. His film A Complete Unknown, which was released over Christmas, has received widespread acclaim from critics, with Chalamet being praised for his captivating portrayal of Dylan.
Following Chalamet’s hosting, comedian Dave Chappelle is scheduled to host SNL for the fourth time on January 18, with up-and-coming star GloRilla making her debut as the musical guest.
Chappelleâs latest comedy special, The Dreamer, is up for a Grammy for Best Comedy Album, while GloRilla has received two Grammy nominations for her hit single âYeah Glo!â Notably, Chappelle won an Emmy for hosting SNL back in 2021.
This news arrives as SNL gears up to celebrate its 50th anniversary on NBC. The festivities include a weekend of programming that concludes with the live primetime special SNL50: The Anniversary Special on February 16.
Ahead of that, the four-part docuseries SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night premieres on Peacock on January 16, followed by NBCâs debut of Ladies & Gentlemen⦠50 Years of SNL Music on January 27.
