A man from Virginia who was already in prison for hiding a dead body is now facing charges of murder. This comes after tests conducted on blood discovered in his home were confirmed to belong to his missing wife.
According to WUSA, Naresh Bhatt now faces charges of first degree murder and physically defiling a dead body.
Mamta Kafle Bhatt, a nurse and mother of a young daughter, has not been located. However, Manassas Park Police Chief Mario Lugo stated that the DNA analysis matched blood found in the couple’s bedroom and bathroom to her. Investigating officers believe she was murdered in the bedroom between July 29 and 30, and her remains were then moved to the bathroom, where Naresh Bhatt allegedly dismembered her body.
Manassas Park Police Chief Mario Lugo mentioned, “The forensic team at Prince William County described it as one of the most gruesome crime scenes they have ever witnessed. This was a statement made on the day Naresh was taken into custody.”
Bhatt was arrested on August 22 on the concealment charge, as CrimeOnline reported. He had reported his wife missing on August 5.
Lugo said the blood test results came in last month, but the grand jury did not meet until Monday.
