Police in North Carolina have made an arrest in the murder of a woman found dead Saturday afternoon at her home in Fayetteville.
Following his arrest in Goldsboro, Christopher Wayne Walker, 40, has been charged with first-degree murder by the Fayetteville Police Department, as per a report by WGHP. The arrest took place late Sunday morning.
On Saturday around 1:20 p.m., the lifeless body of Sherri Miller, 57, was discovered after officers were called to investigate a “suspicious activity,” according to CrimeOnline. During the initial inquiry, it was revealed that Miller’s 2014 Camaro was absent, leading authorities to seek public assistance in locating both the vehicle and the individual responsible.
While the details regarding how Walker was apprehended remain undisclosed by the police, it is known that the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office provided aid in this matter.
They have also not released a cause or manner of death for Miller.
Walker is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
