NATHAN Miller is the brother of the late Samantha Miller, who tragically was killed in a car crash on her wedding night in April 2023.
He appeared at the sentencing of Jaime Lee Komoroski, the driver who crashed into his sister’s car whilst drunk.
Samantha’s wedding
Nathan’s sister Samantha travelled to Folly Beach, South Carolina, to tie the knot with her partner Aric Hutchinson.
The ceremony was attended by Samantha’s sister Mandi, who described the wedding as the “happiest day” of her life, and her mother Lisa.
However, tragedy struck when Samantha and Aric headed home in a golf cart.
Komoroski crashed into their vehicle while driving at 65mph in a 25mph zone.
She was also under the influence of alcohol.
Sadly, Samantha passed away at the scene of the accident but Aric was rushed to the hospital.
Tense court appearance
Komoroski was arrested after the crash and pleaded guilty to her crime on December 2, 2024.
Nathan spoke in court and opened up about how the accident has caused him to dread unexpected phone calls, as he feels they may bring more bad news.
Speaking about Komoroski, he said: “It wasn’t an accident to go over 65mph on Folly Beach’s tiny, dark roads.”
Aric, Nathan’s brother-in-law, mentioned in court that he has consulted numerous medical professionals and mental health experts without any significant improvement in his emotional state since the day he received the distressing news.
“I wish I had died that night. I wish I had seen it coming. I’d have jumped off the golf cart so that you’d only have run me over.
“We did not get hit, we got ran through at 65mph.”
Komoroski’s sentence
Komoroski was sentenced to 25 years in prison for driving under the influence and causing Samantha’s death.
In court, she said: “On the night of April 22, 2023, I chose to drink and drive, which resulted in the death of Samantha Miller.
“This is the worst decision I have ever made in my life.”
