Cleveland police: 2 more arrests made in connection with September street takeovers

CLEVELAND — Two individuals wanted in connection with the Cleveland street takeovers that happened in late September have been arrested.

The Cleveland police reported that the arrests took place on Saturday, Nov. 30, at approximately 11:35 a.m. The Ohio State Highway Patrol conducted the arrest during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike in Lucas County.

Two individuals, Elicia Dix, 21, and Reuben Issac Vazquez, 21, were apprehended as they had outstanding warrants issued by the Cleveland Division of Police. Subsequently, law enforcement officials transferred them to the Cuyahoga County Jail post their arrest.

Dix is confronting several charges, which include obstruction of justice, tampering with evidence, disrupting public service, and aggravated riot. On the other hand, Vazquez is being accused of tampering with evidence, disrupting public service, aggravated riot, and possession of criminal tools.

The arrests are linked to the street takeovers that happened during the weekend of Sept. 28-29 in Cleveland.

A 2015 Chevrolet Camaro was also seized as part of the investigation.

During an arraignment hearing on Tuesday morning, a $1,500 bond was set for Dix and Vazquez. Both cases were bound over to Cuyahoga County.
