Sally Field's home survived the devastating Palisades fire in LA

Sally Field’s home miraculously survived the devastating fires in Los Angeles that engulfed her neighborhood.

The 78-year-old actress’ Pacific Palisades 2,806 square foot home is still standing –  as seen in images from Tuesday, January 14.

Sally’s neighbor unfortunately was completely destroyed in the fires, with nothing left standing except the frame of the garage.

On Monday, the Los Angeles native – who was born in Altadena – revealed that she still didn’t know what remained of her home following the deadly Palisades fire that have ravaged her neighborhood.

The Forrest Gump star purchased her Pacific Palisades home in 2012 for a reported $2.3million but was forced to evacuate like many other Los Angeles residents last week.

The Oscar winner, said in a Monday Instagram post that she still ‘hasn’t seen what remains of my home,’ but that she thought it ‘might’ have survived thanks to heroic firefighters.

In her post, Field shared the view from her house as the blaze began making its way through the Pacific Palisades area on Tuesday January 7, fueled by dry brush and wind gusts up to 100 miles an hour.

‘This is the progression of what I saw over the last week from when I could see the beginning of the fire from my backyard,’ she said on social media, beginning with a photo of brown smoking emerging over a lush, green hillside.

Another snap the carousel shows orange and red flames making their way to more homes, including the 80 for Brady star’s.  ‘I got out with my dog and the clothes on my back when the flames started coming over the ridge,’ she wrote describing the frightening episode.

Another photo shows a view of the smoke from what appeared to be the Pacific Coast Highway, which goes through Pacific Palisades and Malibu.

Others show the flames and smoke from the vantage point of the place where Field and her dog seemed to have taken refuge.

‘I haven’t seen what remains of my home, though I think it might have survived thanks to three heroes in my neighborhood, Fred, Mike and Randy, the Maniac actress wrote pointing out the good Samaritans and sharing a photo of wreckage from the area. ‘I have not enough words. For any of it.’

‘I know my neighborhood has been decimated,’ she admitted.

‘My heart is with everyone affected by these fires and my enduring gratitude to the heroes, the men and women on the front lines fighting the fires.’

The devastation from the fires have hit home with the actress who said, ‘I was born in Altadena, I live in the Palisades, my heart is with my beloved Los Angeles. My hometown. ❤️❤️❤️’

Friend Kimberly Williams Paisley wrote ‘Sending you so much love. ❤️❤️‍’ in response to the post.

Actress Elizabeth Perkins said, ‘Hoping you stay safe. Wrapping you in comfort and light.’

One fan wrote, ‘Sending love to you Sally. Been thinking of you this week. Praying for rain.’

January is usually the rainy season for Southern California, but the Los Angeles area has not had a major rain storm since February 2024, according to The Weather Network.

More high winds were expected in the region Tuesday morning through Wednesday.

Firefighters took advantage of lighter winds on Monday to clear winder containment lines around both the Palisades and Eaton fires, the latter which have affected Altadena and Pasadena.

Field is among the some 88,000 people who have been evacuated from their homes. Another 85,000 are under an evacuation warning, according to NBC Los Angeles.

Air quality remains poor in the region and residents who go out are encouraged to use 95 masks to protect their lungs from dangerous particulates in the air.
