In need of a nutty adventure? Planters is looking for 'Peanutters' to drive the NUTmobile

The “can-nut” miss job opportunity starts on June 2025 till June 2026.

WASHINGTON — Have you always dreamed of driving a giant peanut? Well, Planters might have just the nutty job for you.

Hormel Foods, the company behind Planters, is looking to hire three full-time crew members to embark on a journey across the United States aboard a unique 26-foot-long peanut-shaped vehicle known as the NUTmobile. These selected individuals, known as “Peanutters,” will serve as representatives for the peanut brand, participating in media interviews and community events nationwide.

“We are excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for the next group of Peanutters,” stated Planters marketing director Patrick Horbas. “As enthusiastic advocates for the brand, our Peanutters travel the country, spreading happiness and positivity to millions of people every year.”

So, what exactly are they looking for? Prospective candidates are required to have a college degree and preferably hold a bachelor’s degree in disciplines such as public relations, communications, or other relevant fields related to media.

Additionally, Planters is looking for those with “an appetite for adventure and proficiency in nut-related puns.”

Peanutters will be responsible for “planning and executing over 200 events annually.” Other responsibilities for the paid positions include creating content for the NUTmobile’s social media channels and frequent consumer interaction.

The can-nut miss job opportunity runs from June 2025 until June 2026, according to the posting.

How much do NUTmobile drivers make?

The starting salary for “Peanutters” is $45,000 annually, according to the job posting.

Hormel Foods touts a “strong benefits package including medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, 401(k)and match, Wellness Program, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and more.”

Applicants must submit a resume and a short video describing why they would make the perfect Peanutter by Feb. 14, 2025.

This year will be the fourth official class of Peanutters, according to Horbas. However, the NUTmobile, Mr. Planters’ official ride, has been around since 1935.

Over the years, it has evolved from a singular peanut car to a fleet of vehicles, though there is currently only one active NUTmobile on U.S. highways.
