An Alabama man was arrested earlier this month for allegedly sexually assaulting his 3-month-old daughter.
On January 10, Troy police officers went to Troy Regional Medical Center’s emergency room where they spoke with Kesean Wilmore, 22, and discovered that he had violated the terms of his probation. An investigation that followed revealed that Wilmore was accused of sexually assaulting his infant daughter, as reported by the Troy Messenger.
Pike County prosecutor James Tarbox stated that the baby sustained injuries to her genitals and buttocks, as well as three broken ribs. The prosecutor mentioned that the infant had to undergo a lengthy reconstructive surgery lasting three hours to address her injuries, according to WHDN.
Tarbox also told the news outlet that Wilmore’s daughter may have permanent injuries due to the sexual abuse and may require a colostomy bag.
Wilmore is facing charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, incest, and child abuse. Following a court hearing, a judge ruled for Wilmore to be kept in custody without the option for bond.
