Macy Gray shocked fans after she stormed off stage in fury on the Masked Singer UK last weekend.

ITV production staff spent an hour convincing Macy to return to the stage after she reacted strongly when asked to remove her large Toad mask. Even the show’s host Joel Dommett described it as the ‘funniest thing I’ve ever seen.’

‘You can’t be upset when you’re dressed as a toad,’ remarked Joel, echoing the sentiments of many. ‘I have never seen anything funnier than a 6ft toad storming off.’

Macy has a history with telly tantrums, having had a similar meltdown in 2021 when she appeared on the Australian version of the show.

Reality TV icon and billionaire Kim Kardashian became an instant meme in 2011 after she lost one of her prized $75,000 diamond earrings in the waters of Bora Bora.

While the cameras rolled for the family reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim screamed about losing her precious jewels during the sea swim at her luxury villa, prompting sister Kourtney to drop one of the most iconic lines from the show’s history: ‘Kim, there’s people that are dying.’

In a 2017 interview, Kim’s younger sis Kylie Jenner revealed how she ended up saving the day.

‘I went under there and it was saltwater so it kind of hurt to open my eyes, but I just opened my eyes and looked around and I saw something shining,’ she recalled.

‘Swam all the way down there — it was, like, 10 feet — picked it up, and it was the shining diamond! I literally found it in two minutes.’

Notorious diva Mariah Carey kicked off 2017 with a bang when she stormed off the stage in New York’s Times Square during the city’s annual New Year’s Eve telecast.

The singer appeared flustered and on the verge of tears when ABC accidentally played the wrong lip-synced track during her performance, which was being watched by millions, proving she wasn’t singing live and leaving her unable to carry on.

Mariah didn’t do a Macy and storm of stage straight away, instead stomping aroung whilst repeatedly asking for the monitors to be turned on, before trying to rescue her set by breaking into some very brief dance moves.

Realising she was fighting a losing battle she declared: ‘I’m trying to be a good sport here.’

Mariah remained on stage as one more song played, before walking off in a huff, sending Twitter into meltdown.

Unlike the civilian version, the celeb series only lasted eight days and had a cast of just six. But that didn’t stop the outbursts.

Just three days in Vanessa Feltz had an iconic meltdown.

After being nominated for eviction, the TV presenter, dressed in leopard print and wearing shades, started scrawling obscenities on the kitchen table in chalk, ignoring Big Brother’s demands to stop.

Reflecting on her meltdown 20 years later, Vanessa confessed: ‘I didn’t really think about it at all. It just didn’t seem like much of a big deal at the time. How wrong I was!’

At the height of his fame, Justin Bieber caused a major stir during his 2015 performance on The Today Show.

His newly dyed bleach blond hair wasn’t what hit the headlines,

After performing a medley of hits, Justin was concerned that his dance moves hadn’t been captured and unaware that the camera was still rolling he walked over to give the operator a piece of his mind.

He was filmed fuming: ‘The camera’s there the whole time, I might as well not even dance.

‘What do I even do this for if they are just going to…’ before the feed was quickly cut and the programme went to advertisements.

Gemma, or The GC as she has become known for, was well used to onscreen drama thanks to her years on TOWIE, but the reality show icon couldn’t hack the rumble of the jungle.

In 2014 Gemma stormed out of the his ITV show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here having managed just three days in the Australian jungle.

She had already made it clear that she wanted out, complaining producers were starving the celeb cast: ‘I cannot go another day in here, it’s not on, it’s ridiculous – it’s put me off TV for life, this is bulls**t, I can’t handle it, get me out, I won’t be coming back for more ever, ever, ever,’ she declared.

Viewers had seen Collins grumble about the food portions, saying: ‘People who murder get treated better than this. Even a murderer gets fed three times a day.’

She also misdiagnosed herself as suffering malaria – which has long been wiped out in Australia where the show is filmed – as a result of an upset stomach.

‘No amount of money would keep me here,’ she told her shocked co-stars.

‘I just want to be me and I don’t need to sit in the jungle for three weeks and play up to the cameras, I’m tired of it, I just want to be me.’

Viewers appeared unsurprised that she had walked off. One wrote on Twitter: ‘Gemma Collins has quit the I’m a Celebrity Jungle. And in other news, Bags of peanuts may contain traces of nuts.’

Kanye West’s long-standing feud with Taylor Swift all began in 2009 when he threw a tantrum on stage as she accepted Best Music Video at the MTV VMAs.

The rapper famously interrupted Taylor – who was just 19 at the time – to announce that Beyonce should have been won instead.

He said at the time: ‘Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!’

Kanye later claimed he was compelled to pull the stunt because of a ‘higher power’, saying: ‘If God ain’t want me to run on stage and say Beyoncé had the best video, he wouldn’t have sat me in the front row. I would’ve been sitting in the back.’
