In Hartford, Connecticut, police officers were captured on body camera detaining a woman following her arrest for a murder that occurred in a different state.
Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, aged 42, is facing several charges, including second-degree murder in Florida, for the suspected killing of her missing roommate, Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, also 42 years old.
According to reports from the Orlando Police Department, Victoria-Gonzalez informed them about the disappearance of Medina-Pacheco on December 27, 2022. Responding to the call at the 6200 block of Curry Ford Road around 1:30 p.m., authorities found inconsistencies in Victoria-Gonzalez’s account, stating that she had not seen Medina-Pacheco since Christmas.
“As the investigation continued, detectives discovered numerous inconsistencies in the version of events as described by Victoria-Gonzalez,” Orlando police said in a statement. “A search warrant was executed at their residence, where significant evidence was recovered, indicating a violent incident had occurred.”
Authorities eventually tracked down Victoria-Gonzalez in Hartford, some 1,200 miles away from Orlando, and interviewed her. After finding enough evidence to support probable cause, police arrested her on Nov. 6, 2024 — the date of the body camera footage. On the video, Victoria-Gonzalez indicates that she speaks minimal English, and instructions are heard provided to her in Spanish through a police translator.
Meanwhile, Medina-Pacheco remains missing.
