Incoming Trump administration border czar Tom Homan is a tough and straightforward individual, much like General George Patton. He does not beat around the bush and is unyielding, even in the face of criticism from media outlets such as CBS News’ “Face The Nation.”
During an appearance on the show, host Margaret Brennan attempted to corner Homan with a series of tricky questions regarding the planned mass deportations of illegal immigrants under Trump’s second term and how the Biden administration handled similar issues. However, Homan skillfully turned the tables on Brennan, highlighting Biden’s failures on border security.
When Brennan questioned whether Trump would fulfill his promised deportations, she unknowingly opened the door for Homan to criticize Biden’s handling of the situation. Homan explained simply that Trump’s deportation numbers are lower because he did not allow the massive influx of immigrants that Biden and DHS Secretary Mayorkas have. He also pointed out that ICE could operate more efficiently if sanctuary cities cooperated with them.
