The View seemed a bit empty this morning as the ladies came back from a long weekend. Joy Behar, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Ana Navarro all sat together at the table. However, the noticeable absence was that of Whoopi Goldberg.
In the previous episode of The View, the co-hosts were discussing Michelle Obama’s choice to skip President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday (Jan. 20). Notably, Goldberg was missing from the show on Friday, as usual, with Behar taking over as the moderator.
Hostin praised Obama’s decision on the episode aired on Jan. 17, expressing her support on Friday’s show by saying, “Yes, Lord. She is so right. She gave us that, ‘When they go low, we must go high.’ And I think she’s changed her tune.”
Hostin added, “I think when they go low, you have to meet that energy and perhaps go even lower. Become small like an ant and go to the earth’s crust.”
Navarro agreed, suggesting that Obama “has learned to put herself first and her mental health first,” noting that she did her duties as outgoing First Lady in 2017 when she and her husband President Barack Obama welcomed Trump into the White House.
Today, of course, the panel launched into another discussion about Trump the day after his inauguration, but Goldberg wasn’t around to give her signature bold analysis. Wondering where Whoopi Goldberg is on The View? Here’s what we know about where she is and when she will be back.
Goldberg is missing from The View because of work, as she mentioned on the show last week. When the episode began today, Behar told viewers, “Whoopi is out because of a previous work commitment, and she’ll be back next week.”
While Behar did not give additional detail about what Goldberg is up to, she currently has a few projects in the works. Her IMDb lists five upcoming projects, including the third Sister Act film and the Anansi Boys miniseries.
We won’t have to wait too long to see her face again! Goldberg will be back on the show next week.
