Charges will not be filed against James Kennedy following his arrest for domestic violence last month.
James Kennedy, aged 32 and known for appearing on the reality show Vanderpump Rules, received news from his lawyer, Scott Leemon. The update conveyed that the Burbank City Attorney’s Office opted against pressing charges against him.
In a statement issued by attorney Scott Leemon, it was stated, ‘I have been informed by the Burbank City Attorney’s Office that there will be no legal actions taken against James Kennedy. I would like to express my gratitude to them for carefully examining the situation concerning my client, James Kennedy.’
The investigation conducted by the authorities supported our initial stance that there were no valid reasons to charge Mr. Kennedy with any offenses. James is relieved to put this issue behind him and is eager to focus on maintaining his sobriety and advancing his career as a DJ.
Kennedy was arrested last month after Burbank Police Department responded to a call about a ‘man and woman arguing’ at his residence around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11.
A witness claimed to have seen Kennedy and the woman arguing, and the reality star is said to have at one point grabbed the female, TMZ previously reported. Officers said they did not see any visible injuries on the woman.
At this time, there has been no confirmation Kennedy’s girlfriend, Ally Lewber, 28, was the reported victim. The arrest occurred after the couple attended Kathy Hilton’s Christmas bash together.

The Burbank Police Daily Arrest Log reported that an officer spoke with both Kennedy and the woman that night inside a residence after receiving a 9-1-1 call, according to TMZ.
While there, the woman, whose name was not revealed, told investigators she had been picked up by her boyfriend and that he threw her to the ground.
Police on the scene said they did not see any visible injuries on the alleged victim, but arrested Kennedy for misdemeanor domestic battery upon spouse/co-habitant.
A source has now shared with Us Weekly that friends of the couple believe they are ‘done’ after the arrest.
An insider shared with the publication that Kennedy has ‘been telling friends that they are just taking a break’ and that he and Ally are ‘still talking’.
However, ‘everyone around them thinks they are done and can’t come back from this,’ the source added.
Last month, an insider shared with DailyMail.com that Ally and James were ‘basically done’ following the arrest.
His attorney, Scott Leemon, released a statement announcing that James will not be hit with any charges
A source revealed that the couple of two years were giving one another space and are waiting for ‘the dust to settle’ for the sake of Kennedy’s DJ career.
The source said the couple are ‘indeed on rocky ground’ and a complete split is the most probable outcome.
The insider also claimed Ally may even give Kennedy ‘one more chance’ – however her friends and family want them to be over.
Lewber has since spoken out on Kennedy’s arrest in a statement posted to her Instagram stories.
She penned on December 14, ‘Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support and for checking in on me.’

‘I’m okay and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy during this time.’
Kennedy also broke his silence on the arrest, writing on Instagram: ‘I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life.
‘I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth and being present for my loved ones.
‘Navigating challenging moments is not easy but I am determined to learn, grow and move forward with the incredible support system around me.’
Lewber has been dating Kennedy since 2022
Kennedy was released after paying a $20,000 bail, according to police records.
A source told People of Kennedy’s alleged behavior at Hilton’s party prior to the arrest: ‘James was acting super aggressive all night long.’
‘He was acting so erratic, running back and forth to the bar and body-checking people along the way,’ the source alleged. ‘He appeared inebriated. Spent the evening mostly alone but when he did speak to people, he appeared irritated and rude.’
Attorneys for Kennedy previously told DailyMail.com: ‘We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James.
‘We understand that there were no injuries and we are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.’
Kennedy has been dating Lewber since 2022, following the end of his engagement to Rachel Leviss.
