During Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony, Lauren Sanchez gained attention for her bold outfit. Her fiancé, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, didn’t seem to mind the spotlight being on her.
Sanchez caused a stir by wearing a revealing white $1,890 Alexander McQueen lace corset with floral details, paired with a matching blazer.
While some criticized the former Good Day LA anchor for her attire, others present at the ceremony couldn’t help but notice. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was even caught stealing a glance at her attire.
In a widely shared video on social media, Zuckerberg can be seen glancing down at Sanchez during the ceremony, where they were seated next to each other.
However, according to an insider who spoke to The Sun, Bezos allegedly doesn’t have a problem with the attention that Sanchez gets from others.
‘The thing with Jeff that nobody realizes is he’s essentially a massive nerd and always has been – that’s why he’s been so successful as a businessman,’ the source told the outlet.
‘When he first got with Lauren he finally felt like the cool, popular kid at school, the hunky quarterback with a hot cheerleader on his arm,’ they continued.
‘He loves going out with her looking smoking hot. He loves the looks other men give Lauren, it makes him feel powerful that she chose him.’
Plus, it looks like Sanchez herself was able to block out the noise, too, as she defended her inauguration outfit after the fact.
The Fly Who Flew author has been ‘liking’ supportive posts about her controversial outfit on Instagram, including one that read, ‘I thought your inauguration outfit was very modern and classy, you looked beautiful.’
She hearted another response that read, ‘Boy oh boy you are the talk on all the news stations today. You looked absolutely amazing.’
But interestingly enough, Sanchez opted for a bit of a different look that same day as she attended The Starlight Ball on Monday night in Washington.
The pilot wore a stunning, golden-peach colored gown, which was designed by Dolce & Gabbana, to the star-studded affair.
The ethereal gown boasted draped soft tulle sleeves with an elegant bodice that cinched in at the waist.
She was joined at the ball by her fiancé.
The couple, who went public with their relationship in 2019, got engaged in May 2023 while on board his $500million superyacht in Europe.
It was rumored that the two would wed this Christmas holiday in Aspen, Colorado, but that later proved to be untrue, as they denied the claims.
However, inauguration aside, it seems like Sanchez has always been able to block out the noise regarding her style, something she spoke about with Vogue during a 2023 joint interview with her and Bezos.
‘I always found it interesting that people say, “Well, Lauren, you definitely dress more for men.” I actually dress for myself,’ she told the outlet at the time.
‘But it works for Jeff,’ Bezos added.
