Tim Walz Reemerges, Promptly Has a Breakdown in Rachel Maddow Interview: Losing to Trump Was 'Pure Hell'

It’s almost unbelievable that this individual was just one coconut hitting Kamala Harris’ head away from potentially becoming the leader of the free world. Yet, that’s the reality we’re faced with now.

Former vice presidential candidate Tim Walz (D) emerged from the shadows for his first nationally televised interview with MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.

Recently, Tim appears to be feeling down. The Governor of Minnesota expressed his sadness about the election loss and empathized with the “fatigue” his supporters are experiencing due to that defeat.

He acknowledged that fighting back against President Donald Trump is a problematic venture right now.

“You know that commonly used phrase, ‘The frog in the boiling water?’ We’ve been in that pot for far too long,” Walz remarked, using an unusual metaphor that isn’t frequently heard. “I believe it’s about speaking out. It involves considering your community. It’s about advocating and holding those members of Congress accountable – let’s face it, there’s a lack of courage among those individuals – but this is reality.”

“To the voters, I’m with this too. Everybody’s fatigued. Trust me, I get it,” he told Maddow. “It was pure hell, and the disappointment and the frustration, and I’m, you know, soul-searching – what could we have done to make the case? Because we knew this was coming.”

“We knew the implication. And they’re throwing so much at us that we’re fatigued.”

Soak that all in for a moment. Watch Walz’s facial expressions as Maddow mentions Vice President JD Vance’s name. Trump’s name. The need to take a deep breath, close the eyes for just a moment, and collect his thoughts before he answers the question.

That is a defeated man. And he’s advising Democrats on how not to feel so … defeated.

Walz then proceeded to prove he’s learned nothing since he and Kamala got utterly smoked in the election. Learned nothing about how the American people roundly rejected the messaging from Democrats and the media that everyone who disagrees with them is a Nazi.

The governor casually gave fuel to the media-fueled hoax that X CEO Elon Musk gave a Nazi salute during a post-inaugural speech.

Media Suffers Another Embarrassment as Even the ADL Defends Elon Musk Over ‘Fascist Salute’ Accusations

A Sad Tim Walz Is ‘Surprised’ He and Kamala Lost, Blames America for Rejecting Their ‘Positive Message’

“You know, we spent three days, you know, debating … trying to debate that President Musk gave a Nazi salute — of course he did!” Walz claimed.

As is often the case with these media smears (see Russia collusion, Charlottesville), the story has been thoroughly debunked. Musk gave a speech at Trump’s inauguration in which he spoke about giving his heart to the people, then gestured by placing a hand on his chest and motioning out to the crowd.

Naturally, the media decided this was a Nazi salute because that is all they see anywhere they look. Even the ADL looked at the hoax being perpetuated and said, “Yeah, no.”

If you haven’t seen it, the gesture looked remarkably similar to this …

After taking the bait on the distraction, Walz urged Democrats and their voters, “Don’t take the bait on the distractions.”

“Surround yourself with people who understand this, and recognize the things they went after today are basically a big chunk of what society does, and people like to have clean water, and hospitals, and safety, and roads, and airports, all the things that they are going after,” he advised.

“We have to find that voice. We have to push back. We have to be organized.”

Maybe grab yourself a tall glass of wine and go share loser stories with Hillary Clinton, even.

Pushing back apparently amounts to still calling your political adversaries Nazis and fighting through a case of the sads after being thoroughly beaten down by Trump and the Republicans. Walz’s interview comes off more like an open therapy session between him and Maddow than it does a motivational message.

This is no surprise, of course. Immediately following the election, Walz conducted interviews with local outlets in Minnesota, and he seemed genuinely perplexed as to why he and Harris lost. (“Genuinely perplexed” should have been their campaign slogan).

“It felt like at the rallies, at the things I was going to, the shops I was going in, that the momentum was going our way, and it obviously wasn’t at the end,” the Governor said. “So yeah, I was a little surprised. I thought we had a positive message, and I thought the country was ready for that.”

It’s clear he still doesn’t get that framing your opponents as Hitler doesn’t work. So yeah, the next four years are going to be more “pure hell” for tiny Tim.

Get your popcorn out.
