A Florida woman missing for a year has been declared dead, and police say her brother is the main suspect.
ABC 5 reports that Catherine Stirm, 67, was reported missing on January 31, 2024, but her body has not yet been located.
Bradenton police believe her brother, Scott Stirm, killed and dismembered her before taking his own life on February 1, 2024, in Brooksville.
On January 22, Catherine’s coworkers became concerned when she stopped communicating with them, and they reported her as missing. A few days later, the police found her car at the apartment complex where Scott Stirm resided. Unfortunately, just two days before his suicide, the vehicle was discovered.
A Manatee County judge declared Catherine Stirm dead, nearly a year after she was reported missing.
The investigation remains ongoing. Check back for updates.
