Meghan McCain Claims ‘The View’ Is Full Of “Fighting” And “Drama” As She Spills “Behind-The-Scenes Gossip” About The Show

Meghan McCain has once again expressed her opinions about her former workplace and co-workers in a recent interview, where she described the ABC talk show as “the most dramatic show on the planet.”

During a recent interview on 2 Way Tonight, the ex-host of The View shed light on why the show’s hosts are at times required to read legal disclaimers on air, a practice that reportedly leads to tensions behind the scenes. McCain shared that this measure is taken by ABC to safeguard itself from potential legal repercussions arising from statements made on the show.

Providing insights into the show’s workings, McCain revealed that the obligation to read legal notices on air can be intense because it signifies that a statement made on the show could be false and could result in a legal challenge against ABC News.

“The executive producer physically runs on stage, and there’s more times than not, an argument about whether or not the women will do it because they don’t want to do it because they don’t want to admit they’ve done anything wrong,” she claimed.

She then appeared to reference a recent situation where Sunny Hostin was forced to read a legal note on the air after criticizing former congressman Matt Gaetz, who was being considered for Attorney General at the time despite facing sexual assault allegations.

“When I see Sunny on the show, pursing her lips and just looking like she is a hostage, I know she doesn’t want to do it and she’s within an inch of her life about to … that show’s the most dramatic show on the planet,” McCain said. “There’s always fighting. There’s always drama.”

McCain also slammed The View for its left-leaning politics. She had been a host on the show until 2021, lending a uniquely conservative voice to the panel as they discussed politics and culture.

“The only Republican that is acceptable at ABC News is an ex-one,” she claimed. “You can’t be a current, I voted for Trump. I am pro-life. I’m whatever,’ It is unacceptable and does not exist on the entirety of ABC News. I was the only one, me and Elizabeth Hasselbeck, that’s it.”

McCain was later replaced on the show by former Trump staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin, who has become more critical of the president-elect since leaving his administration. Ana Navarro also identifies as a Republican but is aggressively critical of Trump on the show.

The conservative television personality has since moved on to host her own podcast where she regularly criticizes her former colleagues, though she has claimed that her coworkers will not get over her on the rare occasion that they mention her.

“These women will never quit me,” she once claimed on her show.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
