Three women were found shot to death at a home in Kansas City, Missouri, early Sunday morning.
Police responded to a call reporting gunfire near 1 a.m., as per KMBC. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered the deceased women inside a residence.
The victims were identified as Jodie Hopcus, 49; Sherri Duncan, 73; and Hailey Hopcus, 24. It was revealed through social media posts that Jodie Hopcus is the mother of Hailey Hopcus. While it is uncertain what the exact relationship is between Sherri Duncan and the others, it is known that Jodie Hopcus used to have the surname Duncan.
An individual has been apprehended, and investigators are collaborating with the district attorney’s office to establish the appropriate charges. Reports from the Platt County Landmark indicate that the male suspect was arrested in Abilene, Kansas, which is approximately 150 miles away from the crime scene.
Police Cpt. Jake Becchina told the Landmark that the suspect knew the victims. He has not yet been publicly named.
