Did Kanye West and his wife experience being asked to leave after their surprising behavior on the Grammy red carpet?

Kanye ‘Ye’ West and his wife, Bianca Censori, caused a stir at the 2025 Grammys when Censori left nothing to the imagination on the red carpet. 

Yet, their stunning first impression was short-lived. It was said that the couple was either asked to leave or voluntarily departed from the location shortly after their controversial entrance.

This visible commotion happened right after Kanye West stirred up another scandal, posting then promptly removing an explicit comment about former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Ye and Censori, who got married in 2022, are accustomed to attracting attention. Their surprise at the Crypto.com Arena was the revealing outfit worn by Censori, which left little to the viewer’s imagination.

However, their barely-there red carpet moment was cut short when they were reportedly escorted out of the venue. According to insiders, police intervened shortly after the couple’s bold display, leading them out of the arena and into their silver chrome car.

This was supposed to be a big night for Ye, marking his first appearance at the Grammys in nearly a decade. The rapper had not attended since 2015, but his dramatic return was quickly overshadowed by the controversial fashion statement.

Sources told Page Six that the daring ensemble was a deliberate attempt to recreate the “Vultures” album cover, which featured Censori standing backward in thigh-high boots with only a sliver of fabric covering her backside. 

The couple even struck the same pose on the red carpet before their premature exit.

While Ye and Censori’s shocking fashion choices led to speculation that they were escorted out, sources told People magazine that they left on their own terms after Ye’s wife displayed her jaw-dropping look. 

Censori pushed the envelope with a completely sheer mini dress that left little to the imagination. Forgoing underwear and jewelry, she paired the daring look with clear heels and an oversized black fur coat, which she quickly ditched while posing for photos. The see-through dress, resembling sheer stockings, undoubtedly turned heads. 

Meanwhile, Ye kept his look understated in all black but added a touch of flash with a sparkling pendant necklace and diamond grills. 

The pair’s bold fashion choices led many to believe they were booted from the event, but a second insider told Page Six that was not the case. “He walked the red carpet and then got in his car and left got in his car and left,” the source explained, suggesting their exit was planned.

While sources now say that they left the venue of their own volition, some fans can’t help but wonder if these new reports are Ye’s attempt at doing damage control following a string of controversial posts on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Whether it is on the red carpet or online, Ye knows how to keep the world talking. Just days before the awards show, the 47-year-old faced backlash over an explicit post about the former Vice President that he shared and quickly deleted on X (formerly Twitter).

The Blast reported that Ye’s comments about Harris were slammed as disrespectful and misogynistic, forcing the entrepreneur to issue a rare apology. “Kamala seems like a very nice human. I just wanna say sorry to her kids,” Ye wrote in a follow-up post.

The controversy erupted on Saturday when Ye posted a crude message referencing Harris’ loss to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. “I used to want to f-ck Kamala until she lost. I don’t f-ck losers anymore,” he wrote in the now-deleted tweet.

But he did not stop there. Shortly after deleting the explicit post, he doubled down with another tweet, mocking Democratic supporters. “The Democrats made me take the loser post down. Naw, I’m kidding. Dey don’t control Black people no more. Trump 4 life,” Ye wrote.

Proving that he thrives on pushing boundaries, Ye took to X to unleash a fresh tirade after his explicit Harris post. Instead of cooling down, he escalated the drama with a string of bizarre and boastful posts.

“The world is so lucky to have me,” he declared in one tweet, quickly followed by another bombshell: “Trump’s back in office. Ye’s back a billionaire. The world might just be ok.”

But the eccentric rapper did not stop there. Ye joked about being a clone, claiming he was “warming up” before adding, “I’m rich, so I can say whatever the f-ck I want to.”

As his social media tirade gained momentum, he ended up dragging Taylor Swift back into the spotlight. Ye re-shared a post pointing out that the pop singer is the only person he follows on Instagram, a subtle yet pointed nod to their infamous feud.

The tension between the father-of-four and Swift has been simmering for over a decade. It all started at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when Swift, then a rising country-pop star, won Best Female Video for “You Belong With Me.” 

As the 19-year-old began her acceptance speech, Ye stormed the stage, snatched the mic, and interrupted with the now-iconic line:

“Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’m a let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”

As expected, Ye faced harsh criticism for publicly humiliating the young singer. However, it seems there is no bad blood between Swift and Beyoncé, as Swift took the stage to present Beyoncé the award for Best Country Album at the star-studded event. Beyoncé also bested Swift by taking home Album of the Year, for which Swift was also nominated. 

Swift seemed to be in good spirits despite the loss and was even spotted toasting to Beyoncé’s big win with the “Halo” singer’s husband, Jay-Z.
