PICTURED: Unmasked Person of Interest in UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s ‘Targeted’ Murder

Investigators are reportedly working with limited forensic evidence in Wednesday’s shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

According to information from police sources shared with CNN, a fingerprint was discovered on a water bottle at the scene of the crime. Regrettably, the print is said to be smudged, complicating the efforts to establish the identity of the individual.

According to CNN, investigators are still trying to access a phone that was also abandoned at the scene.

On another front, as per details from law enforcement sources revealed to Fox News, the assailant had checked in to AYH Hostel in Manhattan prior to committing the fatal shooting of Thompson. It is believed that the individual utilized a forged identification card and made payments in cash, likely in an attempt to obscure their true identity.

Furthermore, footage captured the suspected gunman present at a Starbucks nearby just 20 minutes before Thompson was tragically shot close to the Hilton hotel in Manhattan, as reported by CrimeOnline. Authorities from the New York Police Department have stated that the shooting seems to have been premeditated and targeted, rather than a random act of violence.

Thompson, who was from Minnesota, was attending his company’s annual investors conference in New York when he was killed. He had left his hotel — across the street from the Hilton, where the conference was being held — alone and without any security detail.

Reports indicated that UnitedHealthcare was aware of threats made before Wednesday’s shooting. While the threats did not mention names, they reportedly suggested that high-ranking officials would be targeted.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and then on a bicycle. Sources told CNN that the suspect — who is believed to be an experienced marksman — left behind a live round and shell casing with the words “delay” and “depose” on them.

A motive remains undisclosed. The NYPD is offering up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
