Bachelor Grant Ellis Tells Fans to ‘Be Nice’ About His Singing Talents

Bachelor Grant Ellis has a message for fans who are critical of his musical abilities.

Grant, 31, expressed his thoughts on the comments he receives about his singing by sharing a TikTok video on Tuesday, February 4. In the video, Grant lip-synced to a viral audio and questioned why people would criticize someone who took a creative risk and put themselves out there.

At the end of the clip, Grant ducked his head away from the camera. “Be nice yall,” Grant captioned the video.

Upon reading the comments section, users were seen both praising and teasing Grant for his performance. Some users commended Grant, referring to him as a self-aware king, while others jokingly forgave him for his singing.

Viewers got a taste of Grant’s musical abilities during an episode of The Bachelor on Monday, February 3. On a one-on-one date with contestant Alexe Godin, Grant showcased his talent when the pair stumbled upon a piano in a closed mall. He impressed Alexe by freestyling an original song, earning her admiration for his musical gift.

Grant showed off his creative side again during a group date later on in the episode. Musician Mario, who serenaded the group with his song “Let Me Love You,” told the women they had to write a song for Grant and perform it live in front of a crowd with the help of Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin. Before the women took the stage, Grant surprised his suitors with an original rap.

Despite the musical moments, Grant’s connections with the women appeared to shine through. “I just wanted to start the night off and just say I’m appreciative,” he said ahead of the rose ceremony. “I know exactly what it takes for me to fall in love, and the most important thing is emotional availability. My person is in this room.”

Grant has been tight-lipped about the outcome of his season, but a trailer showed the lead looking truly torn between his final contestants. He explained to Us Weekly in January that he tends to be a “really decisive person,” just not when it “comes to matters of the heart.”

The Bachelor is officially back, and it’s Grant Ellis’ turn to hand out the roses — and break down the biggest premiere moments with Us Weekly. Season 29 (yes, 29!) of the ABC dating series premiered on Monday, January 27, reintroducing Bachelor Nation to Grant, the basketball player-turned-day trader. Fans first met Grant during his […]

“So even from night one, I didn’t wanna send people home, but it’s something I had to do,” Grant told Us. “And then when you couple that with the amazing women that are on the season, it becomes really hard. And then you add the absence and the lack of time that you have — it’s definitely difficult.”

As the show airs, Grant teased to Us that he’s in a good place. “I’m happy with life and I’m happy with the way that things are going and the way that things played out,” he said.

The Bachelor airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
